  • Class Description


    BASIC FUSING CLASS : $125.00    9-5     Max 10 students per class   
  • Safety Overview
  • Glass COE Overview and types of glass
  • Glass cutting
  • Glass assembly
  • Kiln set up , using and preparing kiln shelves, using kiln paper, firing schedules, annealing your pieces and kiln choices
  • This class will give you a clear concise overview of glass fusing .  You will definitely feel comfortable going home and setting up
    your own fusing  studio.
  • You will receive a written overview of the class including basic fusing instructions performed in class to take home as a reference guide.
  • Each student will make a few cabochons and fused pieces during class
  • This is a hands on class
  • Items made can be picked up next day or mailed to you
  • All materials included in class fee

       PAINTING ON GLASS CLASS:  $125.00    9-5    Max 10 students per class      

  • Types of Glass
  • Types of paints/frits/enamels
  • Mixing your paints - types of binders
  • Image options, create your own, use stamps, trace painting
  • Types of applicators - brushes, pens, stamps etc.
  • Firing your work
  • We will be painting on flat cut pieces of glass which can be used for fusing or for lampwork beads
  • This is a pre course  creating materials that can be used in  an intermediate fusing class and applying painted pieces to lampwork class which will fall on the next day
  • This is a hands on class
  • Items painted will be fused and available same day to take home
  • All materials included in class fee

       BASIC LAMPWORK CLASS:  $125.00    9-5      Max 6 students per class      

  • All the basics
  • Glass types and COE
  • Preparing your mandrels
  • Types of torches , gases, and oxygen supplies
  • Safety equipment - eye ware, clothing, protection from the flame
  • Kiln types
  • Annealing schedules
  • Making basic beads, using foils, frits and dichroic glass
  • Tools
  • This is a hands on class. Use of various types of torches from hot heads, Nortel Minor, Nortel Mega Minor, Carlisle Mini CC  - giving the student and overview of each torch and set ups available that would be suitable for their home. Safety will be part of the learning process.  You will feel confident in knowing  how to set up your lampwork studio
  • Beads made can be picked up next day or mailed
  • All materials included in class fee.

 

       ELECTROFORMING CLASS:   $100.00   10-4    Max 6 students per class    

  • Chemicals used in electroforming
  • Assembling your electroforming equipment
  • Understanding the electroplating process and how the chemicals, paints and electricity work
  •  Creating electroformed pieces
  • Hands on class
  • Items made during class can be taken home - if items not ready till next day can be picked up next day or mailed
  • All materials included in class fee

     MICROFOLD JEWELRY CLASS:  $125.00   9-5  Max 10  students per class        

  • Create wonderful microfold jewelry
  • Make an assortment of designs using a microfold brake or tube wringer
  • Learning to do basic soldering with  copper and silver
  • Items made in class will be ready to take home same day
  • Hands on class
  • All materials included in class fee

 

   PMC BEGINNERS CLASS:   $100.00   10-5  Max 10 students per class      Additional class fee 35.00  

  • Learn how to work with PMC clay
  • Types of PMC available and uses
  • Tools
  • Making a basic charm bracelet and pendant using a glass cabochon
  • Firing PMC and PMC with glass
  • Using Stamps, punches and molds
  • creating your own molds
  • Hands on class
  • Additional class fee is for a full package of PMC Clay and two part mold materials
  • Use of tools and firing included in class fee

  • Preparing Metal with resists
  • Types of resists and etching materials
  • Safety equipment - eye ware, clothing, protection from the flame
  • Preparing the metal
  • Cleaning up after Etching
  • Bending and Forming
  • Tools
  • This is a hands on class. Use of various types of chemicals and tools - giving the student and overview of each  and set ups available that would be suitable for their home. Safety will be part of the learning process.  You will feel confident in knowing  how to etch using Ferric Chloride
  • We will be making two bracelets that will be taken home that day
  • All materials included in class fee.
